We have extensive experience in this field in both fossil-fueled plant and nuclear plant, as well as experience in substation engineering.
One of our innovations has been the development of the Operator’s Challenge concept to improve the Human Reliability of power plant personnel. This concept has been applied in both South Africa and Russia and has been favourably assessed by EPRI, the Electric Power Research Institute in the USA.
The Challenge consists of a taxing four-hour scenario on plant simulators, with marks awarded for both hard measures and soft measures, ie for the technical operation of the plant within temperature, pressure and output limits and a checklist of how the human team handled the stress of the situation.
Similar challenges can be designed for maintenance personnel as well.
